Alpha Lambda Delta is an honor society for full-time freshmen with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. Founded at the University of Illinois at Champaign- Urbana in 1924, ALD has grown to a national organization with over 250 chapters and 700,000 members.

 

The purpose of the Society is to encourage superior scholastic achievement among students in their first year in institutions of higher education, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist women and men in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society.

 

The University of Texas at San Antonio Chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta was chartered in 1981. Over 1800 students are members of UTSA's ALD chapter.
